"Warning. This the American tribute band that has appropiated Little River Bands name,so don't buy it if you are a fan.
This album does not have the original lead singer or any of the founding members. It doesn't sound like the original group.
It's a bit like having the original Beatles drummer Pete Best forming a new beatles and releasing an album, although as outrageous as that sounds,at least Pete was an original member and these imposters weren't.
The original group, having been robbed of their name, now go by the name of Birtles,Goble and Shorrock and have a live cd and DVD out on import.Click on that name to see them.
They will be releasing in the US later this year."
Group has no original 1970's members

"In a regrettable and unjust decision by the Australian supreme court, ownership of the name "Little River Band" has been granted to lead guitarist Stephen Housden(who joined the group in 1981 when most of the hits were behind them),whose reconstituted "Little River Band" includes Calfornian bassist/vocalist Wayne Nelson(vocalist on the hit "The Night Owls").In "Little River Band",lead guitarists were essentially sidemen who didn't sing and seldom wrote.During the many years when none of the other ex-members were using the name,it was reasonable for Housden to operate a LRB tribute band, but now that the group's 3 original singer/songwriters,Graham Goble,Glenn Shorrock & Beeb Birtles are reunited,Housden should do the decent thing and give up the name,or perhaps an alternative idea would be for the two group to merge into one,as the two warring factions of the group "Yes" did on their "Union" album & Tour.Housden has the name, while Birtles,Shorrock & Goble have the credibility and fame. And YES,Birtles,Shorrock & Goble are looking for American management with an intent to eventually perform in the U.S.A."
Look beyond the politics

"Forget all the politics this is a very good double album. There are some very good songs that compare well with anything previously done by LRB. This Place and Who made the moon could have easily been written by the maestro Goble they are that good. Night Owls was the track that got me into LRB many years ago and to me it's a classic. The re-make on this album is totally different and usually I am not a fan of cover versions but this stands up very well. Finally I have to point out that I own virtually everything that LRB have done and furthermore I love the Birtles, Shorrock and Goble DVD so there is no biase from me.... It's a good album and if you can see beyond the petty politics and like LRB you will like this!"
Classic LRB

"Not the Little River Band that shot to fame with great singles, but a new version of that venerable band with new studio songs and live recordings of LRB classics and some of the new tunes. The studio tracks are catchy, with great harmonies and hooks. 3 or 4 stand up with the best of LRB's songs. And, "Who Made the Moon" is a classic. It cannot help but touch. The live tracks are fun. Glenn Shorrock is missed, but the band is tight, the performances are fun, and it's great from start to finish. The live tracks are a slice of nostalgia, the studio tracks show the the reconstituted band still can spin good tunes. This is not just for fans--it's for anyone who likes good pop rock."
