The most adult-oriented children music

"I cannot claim a vast experience in children music, but I have suffered through enough CDs to understand the main issues: children aren't very picky, and they like to listen to the same songs over and over to the death (brain death of the parents, that is). The series of "Little People" CDs by Fisher-Price, of which I own three (Song and Games for the Road, Animal Songs, and Songs from the Farm), addresses the problem quite well. The singers (where did they find them?) have the voice of children but sing with the precision of adults. The instrumentation is rich and pleasant and these classic children songs are skillfully rendered in various modern pop styles, mostly rock-and-rolly, jazzy, and country-stylish. My 2-year old loves them (she loved them already at 1 and 1/2) and even my 8-year old likes some of them ("Three little kittens have lost their mittens" and "I am bringing home a baby bumblebee"). It's good stuff. I don't think it can get much better for this category, and is generally much worse. ---Luigi"
The Toddlers Love It!!!

"The votes have been tallied in our household, and this album has gotten four of them hands down. This album is GREAT!!! Our two year old twin toddler girls just love listening to this as we ride on the road, and with songs like "The Wheels on the Bus," "BINGO," and many others, we are all becoming expert in recognizing not only the lyrics, but the style and beat of the music. It's getting so that one of my girls knows the song as the musical instrumentation is setting the introduction.
A wonderful tape. It's refreshing, exuberant, and fun to listen to!!!"
