Great record, but...

"This bargain-priced record has probably the definitive version of Liszt's "Les Préludes" (and NOT the Liszt "preludes", as this site advertises; "Les Préludes" is an orchestral tone poem based on the Lamartine poem of the same name and NOT a collection of piano preludes). The Eloquence collection also offers its own version of Dolby Surround called AMbient Surround Imagery (AMSI), which rechannels original stereo (2-channel) recordings into 5.1 channels. Unfortunately, with the bargain price comes a certain laxity in presentation. There are no liner notes of course. But please be advised that the Hungarian Rhapsody no 2 (the most famous of all the Liszt rhapsodies) is really on band no 3 of this CD and not on band no 2 as the jacket states. This means that band no 2 is probably Hungarian Rhapsody no 4, until I can get confirmation of this, which is hard to do because Eloquence does not answer consumer mail and the Rhapsodies number 4 and 5 are relatively obscure works compared to the second. This should not distract you from enjoying these amazing recordings however, but I think it is useful information to know just the same."
