Most of the compositions on the album have distinct compositional techniques developed in the later part of the 20th century, and at times the music becomes so dissonant that it is painful.However, Lindberg turns in another superb performance. The literature presented is incredibly difficult, and is made even more so by the modern style. As a trombone player, I love Lindberg's style. His tone is amazingly soft and rich, but his technical performance through that sound is so crisp and clean that it is almost unbelievable."
