"The other day I was at a record store, asking about the latest Olivia Tremor Control album, and the guy there asked me if I'd heard the Lilys. He told me they were excelent, like mod-rock power-pop kind of stuff. They had this ep, and I figured it would be a good way to see if I liked the band or not. I mean, $6 for a cd isn't so bad, is it? The guy told me that Services for the Soon to be Departed is like Pet Sounds and Revolver rolled into one, and once I got home I found out he was pretty much right. Excellent '60s-styled pop/rock, especially track 4, "The First half second." The fact that I've never heard these guys on the radio just goes to prove my theory that modern so-called "alternative rock radio" is nothing but mindless crap, like Matchbox 20 and other lame-o bands. By this and rock out and move on with your life."
