Dave's recent tragic death whilst on the road makes this re-issue a tribute to a musician who had created much already but undoubtedly had the potential to become one of the most important acts on the current Blues circuit. The further tragedy is that Dave was doing everything right - he was a sensible and hardworking guy who could deal with business, was happy to slog it out on the road, and who knew that making a great album every now and then is the framwework on which to build a sustained career. The mix is usually a super talented featued artist as here wedded to a great producer, superb songs, a funky band and recording and mix work that captures the power of the music. The music is modern downhome with touches of soul and funk.
