"A friend got me this album the other day as a gift --- and it was a terrific gift. I've been trying to find out more about the brother-and-sister duo of Chuck and Mary Perrin through Google and other sources. But there's not much out there for background on the group or the album. I believe she passed away in 2003, and Chuck has continued with his music.
The 23 songs on this album are all top quality, with a lot of work behind each. The duo makes for a good vocal team, and the musical instrumentation fits right into the mood of the album. I took a long drive recently and took the album with me to play without any distractions. It's a great road album.
I'd compare Chuck to deceased singer Jimmy Spheeris ("Isle of View" and some others). Mary reminds me of the late Sandy Dennis (of Fairport Convention) and also Julie Tippetts. They produced some very personal, sentimental songs. Not party music, by any means, but good music for sitting in front of a fireplace with someone you care about."
