The Best Argument For Universal Health Care
worldbfree3 | Minneapolis, MN | 02/03/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"In an era marked by highly-mediocre pap that passes for "rock", "Fins To Make Us More Fish-Like" is the curb-stomping mainstream radio deserves. If you are lucky enough to own "They Threw Us In A Trench...", then this follow-up EP will surprise you a small take. IF you do NOT own "They Threw...", then you may wake up in the emergency room following your first listen of "Everyday Is A Child With Teeth", the record's full-on, head-trauma inducing middle track. The proliferation of this aural masterpiece may lead to an epidemic of fractured limbs, lacerated carpets and general electro-shock dance tunnel syndrome. The first salvo has been fired at the "Friends"-age of cheese rock. If Creed is Chandler, Muddle of Pudd is Joey, Avril Lavigne is Monica, then this band, Liars, are a South Boston Street Gang intent on not being there for you, leaving "Central Perk" with smashed coffee mugs, broken baby pictures, and melted soap-opera tapes in its wake."
These eleven minutes will be the best ones you've ever had

"Eleven minutes?! Yeah, the Vines will probably give ya three times that many for a couple extra bucks, but you'll get one-third of the quality. This is the best music. Ever. The first track has insane drums that evoke disco's corpse, but could easily be Aphex's Twin's 'Come to Daddy' without the schizophrenia. Also: guitar noise and abstract lyrics about drugs! Fun!The second song is clunky noise that hits you with the same drunken love-rage that the Melvins would always throw at you when you were dating them back in the 80s.The third track is a re-do of the opener on their album. What is it like? They take a square and turn it into a giant death sphere that only will be satisfied when you lie bludgeoned in a ditch somewhere. Plus, it adds saxophones! Hooray! So, yeah, you should get this; it is cool."

"This cd only has three songs on it. I forget how long it is but I'm guessing the whole cd is like 15 minutes. But it's a good 15 minutes. A Liars fan must have. The art on the case is nice."
