CD Reviews

A good intro to Liars mach.2

"In the right mood I love the new witch-themed Liars album "They Were Wrong So We Drowned" but it can be pretty inaccessible even for a hard-core Liars fan. For the neophyte, this ep is a much better introduction. "There's Always Room on the Broom" is the best song on the album. It is equal parts propulsively catchy and experimentally trippy, a perfect mix of the old and new Liars. The other two songs on this album allow you to wade into their more difficult material, without drowning."
One of the liars better songs.

"the web comic Questionable content described the liars as "imagine jim morrison on large amounts of lsd writing songs about witches", while sort of accurate i see more of brian eno in them than morrison, in the sense that alot of their songs are just landscapes of sound and weird experimental tweaks.

this song is an exception in that it has a structure reminiscent of a normal song. its normal enough to be catchy but still very experimental and a bit bizarre. which i like alot."
