"Put your big head down on the desk!!!"

"Are you tired of the usual stand-up routines and are looking for somebody who speaks his mind--and can rage on with his bad self? Well, look no further because Lewis Black is the man for you. In the tradition of Bill Hicks and George Carlin, Black is one outstanding humorous commentator who has appealed to me very quickly. "The White Album" is a hilarious first album that gives you a taste of things to come.Even though this is his first album (from what I know), the man has no problems with acting like a pro. His rants are hysterical and full of angry energy. He's one of the few comedians who is able to exhaust me from laughing so hard. It's great to have a social commentator on the comedy scene and it is a breeze to listen to his "take-no-prisoners" delivery. He rants about everything from the weather to IHOP; from Bill Clinton to the ozone; from the flu to Miami, and so much more. Black doesn't pull any punches with his act, as he is completely willing to bash anybody who deserves it and is never afraid to point out the laughable stupidity of others. And politicians---beware! He doesn't care which side you're on! He's a man who doesn't discriminate when it comes to pointing out absurdity in the political world.I really loved listening to this album. While I don't consider this his best work, it is still such a joy to listen to. I'm actually afraid that the man is going to suffer from a stroke on stage one of these days due to the absolute intensity in his performance! His sarcasm ranges from subtle to hysterically outrageous. It's one of the many talents that shows on this very well constructed CD. A word of caution, though: Black isn't afraid to dish out the swear words. If you don't like comedians with foul mouths, then I advise you to keep away. And for the rest of us--ENJOY!Lewis Black's "The White Album" is absolutely hilarious and shows the promise of a great comedian, as we would see him grow with his other albums, "The End of the Universe" and "Rules of Enragement." I really hope that he puts out more albums and continues with his well-crafted act. He's definitely a man who doesn't come short when it comes to a perfect delivery. I don't think we'll ever seen another comic who can duplicate what he does. An absolute classic. -Michael Crane"
Black's Best So Far

"'The White Album' is, at least in my opinion, Lewis Black's best album he has released yet. The man is dead-on with his opinions on everything from the dangers of suntan oil to the wonders of Nyquil. Black's delivery is great. People may complain that he screams too much and yes, maybe it is a little Kinison-like, but Black is definitely an original comic. You can actually hear the absolute astoundment in his voice at the stupid things in life that people tend to just accept without question.

The highlights of the album are many, but his bits about having to audition to play himself on a sitcom about himself is great. The bit about IHOP being his health club and the horse story that ensues is hysterical. His talk on the Clinton/Monica debacle is fabulous. And his readings from Arkansas newspaper clippings regarding some of the state's stranger citizens is very amusing as well.

From beginning to end, 'The White Album' is flat-out hilarious. Black is a very funny man who looks at life from a much different and much more cynical view than most. Not only does he make you laugh, but he makes you think as well. Not a whole lot of standup comics can do that."

"While it took Comedy Central to acknowledge this man's brilliance by putting him finally on the Daily Show (and that is one of the few things right that stupid network has done, they should be cursed from existence for cancelling the Upright Citizens Brigade), Lewis Black is one of the greatest, funniest, outspoken comics since George Carlin. And this CD includes some of his funniest material. Sure he curses a lot, but in Mr. Black's own words about this particular observation, "I don't give a sh-t!""
