Product DescriptionThe members of Lewd Buddha create a tasty form of "Sonic Gumbo," blending hard rock, funk, soul, and blues with a dash of Latin flavor. Lewd Buddha has been described as Dave Matthews + Santana + Gov't Mule. Though presented as a Jam band, most of Buddha's songs are radio friendly. Live Jams though, can extend up to 15 minutes. When complete Lewd Buddha is 9 members strong, Buddha has scaled down for acoustic performances.
The majority of this 9 piece band met on stage watching each other in perspective bands. Originally founded in early 2003, the rhythm section is made up of Bassist/Vocalist Frank Malabe and Drummer/Percussionist Eddie Torres, (on the CD). Andy St. Angelo is now the band's touring drummer. Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Bonett lends his rhythm guitar and keen singer/songwriter sensibility while Jessica Cohen (on the CD) and Erika Montaperto (on tour) provides soaring vocals and theatrical dynamics to this eclectic mix. Fusing vintage and modern keyboard sounds to the mix is Yonkers' own Jane Carozza. Filling out this already impressive line up is guitarist Robert Valderrama. Also joining in on the fun is percussionist Tony Olavarria and saxophone wunderkind Rich Mancini along with Grammy nominated guitarist Joaquin Lievano who adds another dimension to Lewd Buddha's dynamic mix.
Lewd Buddha has finished recording their first CD, SOAP & TOBASCO, and has been playing around New York and New Jersey's clubs to enthusiastic response.
If Spicy Jams, Mouthwatering Songs, Flavorful Lyrics and Zesty Performances are what you've been craving, Lewd Buddha is good to your ear hole.
