Big Plans For ... pure listening enjoyment

""Big Plans for Everybody" is, in my humble opinion, the pinacle of Mitch Easter's ability as a lyricist, singer, musician, and perhaps producer (of what I've heard).
I've been listening to this album for ... gawd ... ever (I own it on LP, if that is any indication), and never tire of it. "In Little Ways", "Badger", "Fell", "Wont Go Wrong", "Route 67", and most especially "Still Dark Out" play catchy pop rhythms against wonderfully crafted lyrics.
"Writing the Book of Last Pages" harkens to "Cypress", another Let's Active offering worthy of a listen to.In all fairness, some of the lyrics seem forced, especially the chorus of "Talking To Myself" ... a fine song that would have benefited from a more relaxed rally point.
The production quality of this album outdid almost everything else released in that year (1986). By 2003 standards, the LP stands up in fine fashion against the pathetically lame yet demographically pleasing uber-tripe sold by the modern corporate radio hive-mind."
