CD ReviewsSimply amazing synth score to a not-so-amazing movie J. M. Perkins | 11/29/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "Even though the movie wasn't the best one ever made, the music is another thing entirely. Even though this score is completely synthesized, it features the ability to sound like an actual orchestra a lot of the time. The soundtrack also features cues that were drowned out by sound effects in the movie that I never knew were there. All I can say is even if you not a big fan of synth (like me), this album will actually surprise you in how real it sounds. I prefer orchestra over synth but with Hollywood's decision to mix synth and orchestra together, there's not much of it left today. John Ottman is the best when it comes to mixing synth and orchestra. Sorry, Jerry Goldsmith, but even though I'm a fan of several of your scores, your electronic scores didn't interest me in the slightest. And it has a recurring theme that doesn't play just once and go away, it's featured alot and it's not that bad. If you can find a copy, buy it while ya can."
