"The 1967 Academy Award-winner for special effects boasted an evocative score from Leonard Rosenman. Though only clocking in at 47:28, the short work is still a memorable accompaniment to the tale of a scientific crew embarking on an implausible journey inside the human body.
The musical composition has no particular group of themes, relying solely on dramatizing the respective encounters by the miniaturized explorers. However, it is still effective in evoking the unbelievable encounters with marauding white blood cells, the dangerous inhalations/exhalations of the lungs, and the menacing beat of the heart.
