This album is a must for any Leon Russell fan. I had seen the show in chicago and listening to the album brings back all of the excitement of that evening.

HOTTER THAN A SOUTHERN SUMMER NIGHT!!!!!

"This collection is on fire from beginning to end!

Released in 1973 following Leon's appearances in The Concert For Bangladesh and Mad Dogs & Englishmen, this was originally a 3 LP set! The only downside is that this concert wasn't filmed. But if you have seen Bangladesh or Mad Dogs, AND if you are familiar with the studio versions of these songs, you will definitely want this one in your collection.

It's Leon Russell unrestrained beyond the confines of a studio production. Could anyone or anything ever restrain his music anyway?? No way!

Thankfully we have this live performance to this day!

Update to review: Thanks so much to another Leon listener (please check the comments section) Leon Live is coming out in 2009 on an upgraded DVD! What a joy to find out that this concert was filmed! Both the cd and the dvd are perfect for those who love Leon Russell!"
