"That is how this mid 80's set, origianlly recorded on Paradise comes to you ,as only "Hank" could deliver this inspired cover of the old Ferlin Husky hit and others, most notably,Hank Snow,s "I,m Movin ON",Hank William's, I'm SO LONESOME,I COULD CRY,and Roy Acuff's, "WABASH CANNONBALL". All of the cuts offered are covers of great country hits that were huge, when my father was younger than I'm now (late 40,s) so listening evokes pleasant memories of my father and a simpler life, maybe that is why Leon chose to cut this set too? Who knows. The entire production is tight and the songs are worked up Leon "Hank" style. For those not into country/western this may be a good intro. This follow up to Hank VOL.I is more straight ahead country than it is in trying to follow the bluegrass sound of the first set."

""Hank Wilson" vol-2 is one of 4 Leon Russell country cd's that are currently available. If your an old fan of the vintage rock n roll Leon Russell you probably won't be to crazy about this collection, but if you enjoy well played country and bluegrass material than you should enjoy this collection a great deal. The cd opens with a hopping "Wabash Cannonball" which is the start of several country boogie and ballads that make this cd a nice listen. Leon Russell is a old country boy at heart , with deep roots in Nashville Tennessee and Oklahoma, so it is no suprise that he occasionally releases an album of country tunes. My biggest complaint is the lack of liner notes which could give the listener a little backround on some of these re-releases on Leon Russell Records. If your taste is more vintage gospel rock n roll Leon you might want to at least try it, but if your a country music fanatic add a star and buy it."

"When Leon is on he is a the best of em all! This album is rivals Vol 1 in it's listenablilty. He is the master of arrainging, tempo and musical phrasing. In addition he gets the best people playing with him. And.... I generally don't even like county music! I was dissapointed in Vol III but I and
II are the best. If you listen two or three times you will find yourself listening 10 or 20 more!"
