"Where to begin? I could tell you that if you like the Flaming Lips circa "Clouds Taste Metallic" or the guitar howls of MBV, that you'll love this record. But that might mean to some that Lenola is just another derivative indie band. Don't make that mistake. What these guys do is craft great songs and then give them superb sonic treatments. And from what I've read, they do it all themselves on a shoestring budget. (Kevin Shields should pay attention.) In fact, no dis-respect to Mr. Shields, but if he ever hears the song "Frukkus", he may just realize that that one very short song distills all the guitar excitement that he spent years chasing. This disc is hugely accessible while still being a hard rocking mind f&ck. When I play it for my non-indie music friends, they all wonder why their local classic rock stations haven't picked up on Lenola. One of my buds says it's like a punk Pink Floyd album. I can't say enough about this record. There must be something in the water in Philly these days given the wealth of great bands there (the Lilys, Mazarin, etc). Hope they tour Cincinnati and I can't wait for the next recording."
