CD Reviews

The only essential Lemonheads album
Ted the handwriting analyst | Andover, NH United States | 03/28/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"It still holds up more than 10 years and dozens of listenings later. The songs are catchy and clever with a punk edge and a sense of humor. None of it is filler and "Luka" alone is worth the price of admission. But if you are a fan of the "Into Your Arms"-type pop songs, you might not like this. I think it was all downhill from this point. If you do like this, check out "Creator" and "Hate your Friends", forget the later stuff."
Damn, this is good
Mary Goldsmith | Appleton, Wi ,United States | 02/14/2005

"That was my thought when I first bought this album in college. I listened to it for five months. It is one of my favorite albums in my collection and I still listen to it on and off. "luka" is a great remake of an annoying song and "those were the days", some of the lyrics are from TV show "All in the family" (just watch the opening credits.). Their next album after this one is "It's a shame about ray", So this album is one out of four lemonheads albums (along with creator and hate your friends) where Dando and Co.still remain true to their roots."
This is almost not the same band.

"The cd sleeve details the sorry situation of the band at this point as internecine conflict breaks out. Only the cover of "luka" makes this a point of curiousty. If you like the later work then you will likely find this a thrashy unrecognisable mess."
