More Brilliance

"This release sees the Dots once again shifting shapes. The experimentation missing from much of "Hallway of the Gods" returns to flesh out this solid effort. Overall this is a very listenable album, revealing itself through layers over time (in the traditional LPD style). There are some standout moments to be sure: The irresitible catchiness of "As Long as it's Purple and Green", the haunting atmospheric swirl of "Ghost" (no pun intended), and the scathing bite of "Is it Something I Said?". There is much sound mutation on this LP which gives it less of an organic quality--a better showcase for Ed's voice in my opinion--than some previous studio releases. If you are new to The Legendary Pink Dots, this album is a fine place to start listening to the result of twenty years of brilliance."
Perhaps their best

"LPD have mutated over the years, and they very occasionally reach heights unsurpassed. This has happened on three occasions that come to mind: The Lovers (1984), The Maria Dimension (1990) and Nemesis Online. Nemesis Online is their first really interesting shift in sound since the early 90s, and they owe a lot of it to the production. It's fuller, more distorted in places, more affected. The songs run the gamut from typical LPD ("As Long As It's Purple and Green") to newer sounds ("Zoo"). Outstanding!"

"Personally,I like this disc better than the one they put out before it,'Hallway Of The Gods'.Has two original members,vocalist/frontman Edward Ka-Spel and keyboardist Phil 'The Silverman'.The Dots have been at it since 1980 now. Most promising tracks would be "As Long As It's Purple And Green",the melodic "Ghost",the charismatic "A Sunset For A Swan","Zoo",the soothing "Pete's Faithful Punchline" and "Abracadabra".If you happen to be into, say early Pink Floyd or Can then you should REALLY enjoy this release. Not counting side projects and solo titles,I heard this was like the band's 40th album.Wow!!"
