Excellent and nostalgic

"Lee Ritenour's "Earth Run" is one of those albums that grows on you with each listen. For a modern listener, the abundance of synthesizers and the so-trendy cover art may be a little off-putting (that's a synthaxe he's holding, y'all) but the overall quality is excellent with apperances by, among others, Phil Perry, Tom Scott, Abe Laboriel, Carlos Vega, and Maurice White, along with the always impressive Mr. Ritenour. The title track is inspired, as are the last four tracks on the album. Even "If I'm Dreamin'" is not a bad listen. Keep in mind that 1986 (the year of the album's release) was slightly different than today, and the excesses of the period will eventually fade, leading to a vastly enjoyable album."

"Out of all the Lee Ritenour albums I listen to, this has to be my personal favorite. The title track is outstanding. In fact, every song on this CD is outstanding. Especially my favorite, "Water from the Moon". This is the CD you should start with if you're starting a Lee Ritenour collection. It doesn't get any better than this."
