"Folks'll tell you the early ones (KILL TUNES, WELL DOWN BLUE HIGHWAY, etc.) are better, but don't listen to 'em. They're liars. Falling J. Moreland just gets better with time, time, time - and this one from 1996 testifies very well, indeed. I especially dig the punk rock barrages like "Bash in Your Face" and "Party Sluts Hang Out" (the drummer really burrrrns), but the poppier stuff (like "Hey Come On") is totally infectious too- not unlike a nasty case of crabs. The winsome (and windswept) acoustic title track is my fave of all: "tell me what it's like back there".
Music by guys like James Moreland make all the misery/pain/tedium/oppression we all gotta endure as Americans feel - wow! - sorta ok again."
