Synopsis
Product Description Originally introduced as Tempered Steel in the early 1980's, Glenn Dagrossa (guitar), Rich Angora (guitar) and Nick Dalessandro (Drums), quickly began putting a dent in the Long Island metal scene, to be joined in short order by bass guitar phenom Ron Porcelli. From these humble beginnings evolved the progressively tinged heavy metal act, LAZARUS. Influenced by bands such as Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Rush, and Fates Warning, it wasn't long before LAZARUS, fronted by Majesty/Dream Theatre vocalist Chris Collins, was supporting acts like Hittman, Nepalm, and Hellicon (just to name a few). This led to LAZARUS being hailed as one of "...the quintessential metal band(s) of our time..." by KERRANG magazine. The bands musical prowess exposed the limitations of vocalist Chris Collins and eventually guitar master Glen DaGrossa traded his axe for the microphone and the front man spot, bringing the LAZARUS sound to new heights with tremendous range and power. This prodded the new line-up to collaborate with Bob Spencer, to produce a more polished and commercial sound demanded of the music industry. With a strong return to the circuit in the early 1990's, the lure of solo career paths and collaborations with other musicians meant continued success for LAZARUS with a now ever expanding audience. LAZARUS and it's members supported acts the likes of The Almighty, Crimson Glory, Fates Warning, Winger, King Diamond, Poison, Bret Michaels, Living Colour, BOC, Twisted Sister, Asia, and Johnny Winter, while also sharing the stage with artists like Al Dimeola, Pat Metheny, The Rippingtons, and Acoustic Alchemy. 1 Wings of Avalon 2 The Distance 3 Shades of Time 4 Glass World 5 Dream Away 6 The Hour Glass Similar CDs

CD ReviewsAWESOME TRADITIONAL METAL!!! David Hurd | San Luis Obispo, CA USA | 12/13/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "Really good stuff here. Kinda progressive and laid back. Very melodic heavy metal of the truest form. Super classy. Awesome songwriting and great musicianship. Every song sounds like a long lost classic. I can't believe these guys are still not signed yet!
Highly recommended if you like classic Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Jag Panzer, Queensryche, Savatage, and Fates Warning's first few albums. Also if you dig this you should check out some other newer bands like Pharaoh, Crescent Shield, and Icarus Witch that have that timeless heavy metal feel as well." |
