"Trilogy: Legends of the Goddess III" continues the evocative musical journey of interweaving lyrical symbolism based on the Celtic goddess with rich instrumental and vocal textures. Forging into new territory, this third cd in the "Legends of the Goddess" series incorporates world music "The World Is A River," alternative "Get Inside," and orchestral movements in the endcap piece "Silver Wheel." Timeless, haunting and uplifting with solid yet creative songwriting and production/instrumentation, this is music for the discriminating listener who wishes to journey beyond the ordinary.
"This CD is the final installment of the "Legends of the Goddess" trilogy started by Laura Powers.
This disk is her music inspired by the Celtic mythologies. On this CD are songs such as 'Pale Sister', a hymn to the Moon, 'Druantia', to the Goddess Queen of the Druids, and 'It Shall Be No More' about Calan Mai - May Day in Welsh.
The songs range from longing love songs such as 'I've Loved You Forever' and 'Shine Love' to little skipping melodies such as 'Get Inside' and 'Silver Wheel'. There is even a bonus hidden song making a total of ten tracks.
Ms. Power's enhances the music by adding pipes to the 'It Shall Be No More' giving it a deeper taste of Celtic. The topics covered lend themselves as well to the Celtic flavor that Ms. Power's wanted the CD to have.
The track 'Pale Sister' stands out as a lovely. While there aren't any get up off you chair and dance pieces, there are a few upbeat pieces. 'The World Is A River' is one of those upbeat pieces which sings of her remembrance of the ancient world and the connections of ourselves to the earth.
'The Mystic and the Muse' is a love song between mysteries and inspiration. 'It Shall Be No More' is about the banning of the Old Ways in Wales.
The last track on my CD, 'Silver Wheel', did not match the discography included in the package. The song seemed to be a piece called 'I Will Remember You' and the lyrics did not match the lyrics for 'Silver Wheel'. However, after that song, there are a few short verses which match the last few verses in the lyrics for 'Silver Wheel', and then breaks immediately into the reprise of 'Winter of Dreams', followed by the bonus track. While the song 'I Will Remember You' was a lovely addition, the discography and lyrics are confusing, and the song 'Silver Wheel' was intriguing as it appeared to be another of the more upbeat pieces on the CD.
Ms. Power's provides enchanting vocals to accompany the music, the lyrics are inspirational and the CD is pleasing to the ear. Much of the music is soft and slow as devotional music is bound to be. The few upbeat pieces were welcome between the more supple and serious cuts. The recording quality is what you expect of a well produced studio CD.
All in all, if you found Ms. Powers previous works to be delightful, you will find this one completes the Trilogy and is just as subtle as the first two CD's in this set. boudica"

"This new CD from Laura Powers is entrancing. I have her first two CD's and have loved them thoroughly. This latest CD "Trilogy" is every bit as powerful as her earlier music. I first heard this new CD from audios on her website, LauraPowers.com. I feel like I am in a beautiful and personal space when I listen to these lovely melodies and harmonies. Laura Powers' lyrics, especially on "Pale Sister," "Dance Till the Rain Begins," "Silver Wheel," and "Shine Love" just grab my heart. I am instantly soothed and happy when I hear this music, like entering a gentle mystical world. Thank you, Laura Powers! This music has touched me deeply and enhanced many of my days."

"Laura continues to mature and reach new heights as a writer and singer. Her latest "Trilogy" entry is fresh and new even after many, many listenings to her previous 2 releases. I recommend it highly!"

"I own several CDs by Laura and they are all wonderful-I especially like the world beat song (The World is a River, great for dancing) and a powerful song to those who know they have met before (I've Loved You Forever.) "Pale Sister" and "Druantia" are mystical, haunting. Her music has a quiet way of making me feel better-empowered and connected. There is a cool bonus song at the very end if you let the CD run-it's a nice way to end it. BTW, my insert with lyrics was just fine-not sure what another reviewer was saying, or maybe it got fixed. You won't be disappointed!"
