"I am a Pausini fan since she sang La Solitudine and was heard in many continents. This album, is different, a compilation of italian writers and singers so it is not her own composition but her own way of singing them. The strongest song in the album is YO CANTO. I had only heard it after I bought the cd and it was very impressive, strong vocals as usual, soft, no more loud screams, it all comes out naturally for Laura now since her last two albums, LO MEJOR DE...LAURA PAUSINI in 2000 and ESCUCHA en 2005. Escucha was definitely a success for Laura, she won the Grammy, composed the songs at a difficult period in her life, so she puts all her emotions, anger, and hope into the cd. For me, the strong tracks on YO CANTO is this same song, Dos, and Estrella Gemela, who Eros Ramazzotti has a great version of it long before but Laura gives it a new smooth spin which is very nice to listen to. Melancholic.
Enjoy it.
Laura always gives her best.

"I have to say that this album, although is very good and some songs are very catchy, it's not so strong as her previous album "Escucha". The best songs in my opinion are "Estrella gemela", "Mi canto libre" y "Corazón fragil" and the closing track "Por el camino". Still it's a worthy album, and it deserves to be heard, but I think that "Escucha" is slightly better and more consistent.

Sharing Italian Music with the World

"In this CD Laura Pausini performs songs from a variety of Italian singer-songwriters. She ads her personal touch to all of them, of course. The results are lovely and inspired. A lot of the songs already had versions in castellano, but Laura and her team have written new Spanish lyrics to some of them. All of these songs were made famous by their creators. Most of the songs are ballads, but there are some midtempo tracks in the title track, "Dos" (Due, by Raf) and "Estrella gemela" (by Eros Ramazzotti), and danceable pop in "Mi banda toca rock." I don't know about the comment from the reviewers below about "Mi banda toca rock" as Menudo song (a horrible thought to some of us!), but the original Italian version was fun. It's not a bubblegum song, but about the combination of traditional Latin music (Latin in the original sense, all the musical varieties of romance-language speakers) and rock music, something that was starting to happen when the song was written. This reminds me that someone was commenting that one of the songs had some sections in English. I believe they are wrong about the song. "Estrella gemela" has some sections in English, but that is the way it was originally written and performed by Eros Ramazzotti (in Italian and Spanish), to emphasize the influence of African-American gospel music in the song. Laura also references this influence by using gospel chords at the start of the song. All in all, this is a great album, so give it a shot. Whether you speak the language or not, the Italian version of the album is even better. Laura just keeps getting better with time! Laura sei bravissima!"
Nice!

"Laura is one of my favorite singers ever! her voice is sweet.
The song Yo canto is really nice and It has other Famous italian songs like "No me lo puedo explicar" that Tiziano Ferro sang in 2004.
UPDATE:
WOW!. The biggest surprise was finding in this album the song "Y mi banda toca elock" that MENUDO(An ugly old music group) sang in the 80's. Now Laura makes this song decent and good"
Great!!

"This is a great album of her. Some songs I heard them before and she made great versions of them. I personally think "Escucha" was better, but this still is a great great album."
