It Don't Get No Better Than This

(5 out of 5 stars)

"The Lattie Moore collection on Westside, of all his 50s-60s Starday-King recordings, is a remarkable treasure and landmark in Hillbilly, Country and Rockabilly. I've had it spinning on the platter for months and just can't get enough.
In just a six year gap between the early and later recordings on this fine work, you can see the tremendous change that Country music underwent. The early work is reminiscant of the style and sound best remembered as Hank Williams, whereas the later recordings show Country entering its Honky Tonk era.
I have always loved Honky Tonk the best, but it was Lattie Moore who gave me a real appreciation for the earlier music it evolved from. Now I'm a Hillbilly fan too, thanks to Lattie Moore.
I recommend this as highly as I could any collection, for *Real* Country Music lovers who want to really know their roots.

Awesome album from a musical pioneer!

"Lattie Moore may well be one of music's best kept secrets. A true pioneer, this album reflects the best of early rock-a-billy. Many of the tracks have been cut by other artists, but none can compare to the original. If not for circumstances beyond his control, Lattie would truly be known as one of the greatest artists of all time. If you like unprocessed, real music, this is for you."
