"Latif's debut album "Love In The First" is probably one of the most slept on releases of 2003. His first single "I Don't Wanna Hurt You" tells a story about young love and the scary thought of settling down at a young age. The script flips a bit to the next song "Who's Lovin' Her Now" its kinda like the 2nd part to the 1st single he wonders if shes happy and who is loving her.
The highlights on the disc is definately track 4 "Without U" a beautiful interpretation of how much u realise how much some means to you when they're gone. Also track 11 stands out for me which could have easily been a single "Rain Will Go Away" its such a heart breaking song "Rain will go away/i pray you find someone else to take my place".
Latif has so much talent comparisons to Avant & Donell Jones are clearly evident let's hope he releases a sophomore CD"
Damn ...this is what you can an ALBUM!!!

Philadelphia-Latif has all of the elements of becoming part of the Neo Soul Movement. As a new artist in the music industry there's no way to survive unless you prove yourself, and on his debut Love In The First Latif's music proves him victorious. Winner of the Teen Choice Award for Best Upcoming Artist, Latif has already achieved some success. On the smooth first single "I Don't Wanna Hurt You" Latif talks about choosing between one committed relationship or many brief intimacies. He ultimately comes to the decision to let the one he loves go rather than have her suffer. Throughout the soulful adventure, Love In This First delivers real, personified music, main subjects being love and relationships. From the blissful times, like that in "Heavenly"; in contrary, there are downs like that in "Who's Loving Her Now?" In the song "My Man's Girl" Latif discusses the problems arising from falling for your friend's ex, also like that in "My Sister's Girlfriend" Latif falls for his sister's friend, in result the difficulties overpass his feelings. Falling short on "Girl," Latif disappointingly sings in a faster pace, sounding like that of B2k, which sound is more of POP than Soul. But he rebounds with the suave self-titled track "Love In The First." In the inspirational "Rain Will Go Away," Latif informs that with the bad will follow the good, therefore to look forward because there is hope. In its entirety Love In The First is an album with complete satisfaction.Hot Tracks: "I Don't Wanna Hurt You," "Without U," "Rain Will Go Away," "Heavenly""

"Real Talk...this cd is by far the best r&b album i've heard in some years. If you liked Usher's Confessions album then you will definantly like this album because it is FAR BETTER. The lyrical content is mature and well written, the man has an amazing voice and the production is outstanding. As one person posted, Latif has been slept on in this industry and long-overdue. BUY THIS CD!!!!"

"FYI: LATIF's NEW WEBSITE: www.coreywilliams.net
This is a great album that show great diversity, skills, and character. You can party with Latif's upbeat songs or you could also mellow out with a beautiful ballads.
There is a lot of content lyrically and musically in this album that is just straight up real and not the usual BS. Latif has moved from Motown Records to NextSelection (www.nextselection.net) which should add to more control on his music career.
Latif aka Corey Williams, is a Philly Native that is on the verge of some big things. All your faithful R&B, Neo-Soul, Hip Hop music lovers....support this album. Save REAL MUSIC.
