"The legendary Mexican-American Lalo Guerrero's career spanned more than 7 decades. One of the many things he was noted for was his remarkable parodies. Long before Weird Al Yankevich came along, there was Lalo Guerrero. His parodies are smart, snappy and sassy. This is a great cd. I love all the songs and the way he sings them. Get this cd, but also get his pachuca cd (Mexican-American swing) and his songs "Barrio Viejo" and "Cancion Mexicana". Some of my favorites on this cd are "Mexican Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Busboys", "No Chicanos on TV" and "The Gay Ranchero" (which is absolutely NOT homophobic). Lalo was a smart man with a social conscience with a love of mankind, a sort of Mexican-American Jacques Brel. Neither is alive now; neither can be replaced, but the world will always have their music. Listen to it, enjoy, be entertained. You'll be glad you did."
