"Ladyhawke's unique voice and music transports you back to more innocent times, where love, longing and heartbreak meant something. Strong vocals and lyrics backed by synthesizers and chimes makes this one of those albums which will remind you of the 1980's in a good way. Sometimes what's old can be new again and that's a good thing.
Standout tracks are
Better than Sunday
My Delirium
Another Runaway
Back of the Van
Paris is burning
P.S. There is a special edition available now with 2 new songs "Danny and Jenny" and "Oh My" and acoustic versions of "Dusk till Dawn", "Paris is Burning" and "My Delerium". I didn't know about it and for two dollars more, I would have bought it for the 2 new songs and 3 acoustic versions. Oh well.

"Around the time I first heard "Paris is Burning," 80s-style music was really popular, with overused drum machines and the like. (Wait, I think it still is!) But Ladyhawke was the first of those performers to sound like she should be on the Breakfast Club soundtrack.
Some of the best songs on this CD are "Another Runaway," "Love Don't Live Here," and "My Delirium." I could totally imagine running around my high school, narrowly avoiding Paul Gleason, while listening to this album.
Enjoy the authenticity of Ladyhawke, who does her best to avoid the cheesiness of the 80s and writes heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies instead."
One of my top ten favorite albums!

"Ladyhawke! You have to hear this one to believe it. and the first song (Magic) is probably not the best or most representative of the album. Song 2 (Manipulative Woman) is good, pOppy, punchy, rock but this album really kicks into gear at song 3 (My Delirium)/ the "Hit" of the album. So, basically Songs #3, and #'s 7-12 are AWESOME. I could listen to them over and over and I DO. Especially hot are the 7th song "Back of the van", the 8th "Paris is burning" and the 10th " Dusk till dawn".
Pip Browns' (that's her real name) voice is like venusian fire, burning passionate beauty into my brain and heart. She is from New Zealand and deserves alot more recognition than what she's currently getting.
This is Rock/Pop/Dance music with a best of the 70's and 80's feel.
Much of this is a homage to Stevie Nicks, whom Pip even looks like a bit.
This CD was also VERY well engineered, esp. for someone who played all her own instruments on the tracks of this work. I am a music conessuer and I cannot recommend this album high enough! Ladyhawke truly sets me on fire."

"Usually when I pickup a CD, I expect to like 1 or 2 tracks at most. It is just how it is in this business. Most songs in a release are fillers! Well, I am in love with Ladyhawke. Maybe I have a crush on her. She has surpassed my expectations. This is one CD I can play 8 hours a day and not get tired. Yes, all songs are excellent. However, the best tracks are Magic followed by My Delirium. When I first heard Magic I tried very hard to determine if this was an old or new track. Ladyhawke completely fooled me. The scary part is that Ladyhawke tackes a wide range of 80s flavors with great faithfulness. Production is tight, writing was excellent, performance is top notch. What can I say, this should teach Katy Perry and Lady Gaga that good electro and 80s tunes are never cheesy...or weird."
