"For many people (I include myself) Ernest Ansermet has been regarded as painter of the music. His accuracy as conductor is overwhelming, he always gets to convey even the most indifferent listener to new lands of exciting musicality and Dionysian expression.



His performances of Stravinsky, for instance are among the best achievements ever made in the history of the disc. He got extract from the Suiise Romande a characteristic sound, combining wild audacious, excel phrasing, superb musicality with untamed vitality.



In this memorable recording we have once more a fabulous and radiant performance, without boating of cheap effects or fireworks poses.
