CD ReviewsGreat black metal fenriz_gmh | San Diego, California United States | 03/17/2004 (4 out of 5 stars) "This album is very speedy, and has quite a dark atmosphere. I would have given it five stars, but all the songs follow the same theme: let's go out and crush christianity and make everyone suffer in Hell while we laugh and spit on them. >:) That's nice, but I do prefer a little variety from time to time. Otherwise, this is a definite must buy album. The guitar work is great, and the drums are a constant blur of pounding noise. As they state on their website, they trigger the bass drum; gives their music a consistently fast tempo, and it works very well. Xaphan's vocals, while not too varied in pitch/volume, are very powerful and piercing; you won't forget them in a hurry. Another nice touch, in my opinion, is the fact that Xaphan is, like myself, an actual Satanist, and not just some immature fool who burns down churches, digs up graves, and/or kills people for very idiotic reasons (you [and your fans] know who you are!), so this is one of a few truly Satanic black metal bands out there. I find that very appealing in an increasingly moronic, poser filled metal scene." Cool! eric b | west haven ct usa | 03/06/2005 (4 out of 5 stars) "I'm not really into black metal, so when people ask me about it my reponse is that i usually don't bother listening to black metal bands that aren't named emperor or dissection, but kult ov azazel have slithered there way into my cd collection and have added there name to that list. This cd is not for everyone and it takes some preaty good patience to sit there and be pummeled by blast beats, and a 3 vocalist ensamble. The guitars grind and shread away at a blistering pace with technical majesty almost to the likes of marduk or summon (another great band you should check out) but i don't really know black metal that well so i could be wrong to some people. Black metal isn't my thing (have i mentioned that?) but i would definately give this another spin"
