Synopsis

Product Description
Welcome to Roatan is an eclectic song collection featuring original compositions and arrangements. It features various styles and forms each one of them completely original. There are finger-style calypso puntas, a Central American folk song, a timeless Spanish melody, songs of love, a humorous blues and a country waltz. There are elements of salsa with mambo and guanguanco rhythms, a musical pastoral of Roatan an Edgar Allen Poe poem set to music and a tropical celebration of life in paradise.

The musicians who perform upon this album are from various parts of the Americas and come from various cultural backgrounds. They bring various elements to the sound. The garifuna tribe, Raul, German, and Marcos handle the percussion and hand drums. On the guitar Kristofer a.k.a. "El Gringo" and Jose a.k.a. "El Catracho" whose styles greatly complement one another. The bass is held up with the strength of Guillermo Cano and Eugenio Guzman of Honduras and Chile respectively. There is a guest harmonica player who is a Roatan legend from ancient times long ago: Chicago ex-pat, "Big" Bob Rieman. And last but not least, bilingual vocals performed by Kristofer a.k.a. "El Gringo".

A wide range of talents, combining their colors to the musical canvas guarantees something original, something new.

Featuring music of the Roatan Guitar Duo and Cultura.
