"I've been following Kristine W's career since she first hit the music scene with "Perfect Beat" which introduced the world to the soulfilled voice behind those bright blue eyes.
She followed up with the huge success of "Land of the Living" which cemented her as a Dance music fixture, a gay icon, and a force in the music industry.
Her following albums "Stronger" and "Fly Again" helped Kristine acheieve the kind of recognition she deserved helping her hit numerous back to back #1 Dance singles and make her one of the most popular dance club acts in the country.
For years I've been saying WHY OH WHY ISN'T SHE MAINSTREAM??? Well Kristine put out an album that I truly believe could "cross-over" and it's all in one amazing album, "THE POWER OF MUSIC"!!! 16 songs that blend and flow so perfectly together it was as if they said we're going to give you an album of #1 songs!! Literally the whole album is amazing and each song could be it's own single. To kick off the album "Be Alright" which is my favorite song on the album it just sets the mood for fun, positive force, and re-introduces the voice that is unmatched in today's music scene! She gives a wink to the past by having Big Daddy Kane rap the opening of "Power of Music" and again the song just rocks the house! 4 of her latest #1 singles appear on this album (Never, Walkaway, Love is the Look, and The Boss) as well as a slamming remake of "Feel What You Want" that gives new life to this instant classic! One of the most perfect songs on the album is "Not so merry go round" which is sung almost as a lullaby that each time I catch a different phrase, harmony, or rift that gives me chills. The song is so beautiful it needs to be heard by everyone.
Kristine also looks flawless on the cover art and in the insert photos and the CD picture from the WALKAWAY video is just breathtaking, could she be any more gorgeous?? I truly believe this is her strongest, most consistent, and well polished work to date. I forsee big things for Ms. W and if she doesn't have the crossover success she deserves, I'm thrilled she's the GLBT/Dance music communities secret diamond!! She is amazing and I can't wait to spend the next few years working it out to Ms. W!!
Thank you for "THE POWER OF MUSIC" it's once again lifted our weary souls!

"Yet another amazing work form Kristine the great!! Love the vibe and the selections on this Dance masterpiece. What a set of pipes. The "Power of Music" will keep your feet moving for some time. That being said, I have but one complaint about this album (and so many others today by other artists). The album is "over recorded". What I mean by that is the quality of the music is so "loud" that most of the songs virtually are on the brink (if not already) of distortion. I know what you're thinking and it is NOT my system. I know what it is capable of and this CD is unplayable at anything but a modest volume. My favorite song "Never" is a prime example (among others). Yikes, what did they do to Kristines poor album in the recording studio? Time to fire the audio engineer. Just compare this to her first CD, "Land of the Living" and you will know what I mean. LOTL is MUCH better recorded. Hell, I have a Casablanca Records box set that is hands down better in recording quality.(And most of those songs are over 30 years old!!!) There is just no room left for musical dynamics. (This is similiar to complaints I have read (and actually heard) about "remastered" albums. Yeah, they are louder, but often over-driven to the land of near distortion). Isn't that what they made volume controls for? Kristine, dear, if you read this...please fix. Looking forward to the next CD (I think). Drag the engineers out by the ears and find a better one. I'll just keep this one for my car ($200 system vs $20,000+ system). This is NOT to discourage anyone from buying this. On the contrary. You won't find a better dance album out there. But That's why only 4 stars. Recording quality suffers a bit. Enjoy!(just not on a good system that shows ALL the detail."

"I have been a huge fan of Kristine W's since way back in '95 and have always been amazed by the music she creates. "The Power of Music' is NO EXCEPTION! From the beginning guitar wail of "Be Alright" to the upbeat and positive vibe of "Meet Again" Kristine delivers intense beats and rhythms while weaving messages in her own unique way. I LOVE the singles that have been released of course, but other stand outs are "Fade", "Window to Your World", the brand new '09 recording of her first single, "Feel What You Want", "Happiness" and "Not So Merry Go Round"(this one being ONE INCREDIBLE ballad). Thank you Kristine for sharing your music with all of us...thank you for your undeniable beauty and talent and thank you for "THE POWER OF MUSIC"."
