"I hunted this album down after reading a review in CD Review magazine, and it was definitely worth the search. A true gem, this is one of those rare finds where each listen is just a little better than the last. A great mix of styles, with a fantastic lineup of players lending a hand, and Ms. Vigard's voice is simply flawless. "Paint My Head" and "Slave To My Emotion" by themselves make this CD worth the cost. I will never part with this CD - it's just too important a part of my collection."
Great voice ... mixed bag of songs

"I searched out this album after hearing Kristen Vigard sing two marvelous songs on the "Grace of My Heart" soundtrack (and one in the movie that was covered on the ST by Elvis Costello -- I love him, but it sounds better sung by her). The album is a mixed bag of styles, and some of the songs appeal to me more than others. My personal favorite is "The Announcement," a beautifully song bouncy little pop tune.If you happen upon this album, I also HIGHLY recommend Kristen's work in "Grace of My Heart.""

"I believe that Ms. Kristen Vigard was Annie before Andrea McArdle. She has an incredible voice and is the voice behind the actress in Grace of My Heart (Illeana Douglas) and she should do more!! She could be the original Norah Jones, She should record another album. I think she did Richard Rogers last musical on broadway."
Good voice, good music, but not necessarily good together

"Having heard 'The Announcement', I had been on the lookout for Kristen Vigard's album for over ten years. She has a beautiful voice and the variety of songs is a brave move, but she does not have the voice for the jazzy/ late 80's songs on the album. At times I even found her lyrics a bit grating. Her talent is best shown in her slower, acoustic songs, and the album's last song is quite pretty, with a Celtic tone to it that is ideal for her voice.
Far as music and voice combined, 'The Announcement' works best. I hope someday Kristen Vigard will do another album, and stick to the slower, less produced end of the music spectrum. If she did an entire album of one style, preferably acoustic and one that could showcase her voice, it would be a hit. I think this album went under the radar because she tried to do too many things at once."
