Intimate and pleasurable Bregovic collaboration.

"Sad to see other reviewers panning this CD so heavily. It really is an enjoyable album.
Those who see this as some kind of inexplicable aberration on Bregovic's part do not know their Goran.
Most Western listeners know Bregovic primarily as a composer of luminous film music.
In fact, Bregovic is a musical chameleon who has a long history of working with assorted pop artists, many from the Slavonic and Greek musical worlds, many with a slightly cheesy sound to Western ears.
From early collaborations with fellow Yugoslavs Bijelo Dugme, he seems to have been drawn to enigmatic figures like Iggy Pop and Scott Walker, and of course greater artists like George Dalaras, Kayah and Alkistis Protopsalti. There are many others, not all of them worthy!
Krzysztof Krawczyk is actually one of the most relaxed of Bregovic's collaborators. He has a pleasingly rough folk-rock voice which goes well with Bregovic's music, producing a laid-back, intimate and very warm sound that is a pleasure to listen to.
If, like me, you love this remarkable musician, then "Kris & Goran" is an essential buy, and I don't hesitate to recommend it.
