The humble beginnings...

"This record is an absolute must for anyone interested in the beginnings of early New York Hardcore. As many will know, this was Doug Holland's group before leaving to join the Cro-Mags in the mid '80's. Kraut encompasses the very beginnings of the NYHC sound and style. Some have probably heard Civ's version of "All Twisted" on his debut album. Buy this and hear the real deal."

"Stop listening to today's so called punk bands (Blink182, GreenDay, Rancid). Kraut was one of the best NY punk bands. I'm glad I was around to see them play and get to know them. Even Steve Jones from the "Sex Pistols" liked them so much he appeared on their L.P. If you want to hear real punk rock music, BUY THIS."

"I have excellent news for the world, this album has all the original Kraut songs on it. Back from the days of CB's and saturday afternoon shows there, and other punk venues too numerous to mention in this paragraph. These boys could whip out some hardcore diddys. Not P-Diddy mind you. But punk rock and roll music. Doug Holland's guitar sounds like the German 6th Army at Stalingrad. Davey Gunners vocals completely intertwine into a blistering punk necromancy. They opened for the Clash and now they open the doors to perception. DAVEY GUNNER I SALUTE YOU! ALL RISE, QUIET!!!"
