"Old School Meets New School. Bigg Thangs is Bigg and Brassy! It's a mix of Kool & The Gang's signature Horns with a catchy rapp by Kool's son (Kind of Will Smith - like). The Gang introduces a rooster of new acts on their label. My favorite cuts are:
Track #3 Blow UP It's a HIT - by FEMALE
Track #8 Ballin In Chilltown - I heard it in Naussa. I loved it. Too Hot Allstars Track # 10- All My Time - I listen to this all the time.

"I have the album and admire these guys for coming out on their own record label. This great that their introducing us to the young artists on their label while at the same time reinventing their own sound. It's still the same Kool & The Gang but with a funkier, street flavor and a younger feel to it."
Not too bad!

"This cd is good but I cant compare it with their early albums .There are also funky tracks on this album are well-blended with rap music. The point is why all people don't want JT anymore.Cant they see his excellent vocal range, and the success that he left with Kool & The Gang through the 80's.? People let's be realistic, I'm very pleased. What they say it doesnt matter He's a great man and I cant imagine Kool without JT in my opinion. Also theres another new album on it's way which will be released on October. Im still looking forward."

"I felt it was only appropriate to edit this review. There are people that can't past Kool and the gang with JT. These people don't realize that Kool existed before JT and how great of a band they were before him. JT was okay and it was great to see them be recognized by the masses, but to me the music was bland during the JT era. While I'm not really into hip hop, it's great to hear them take some chances and take a harder edge. For those of you that like the pop sound and JT he's oput there making his music. For those of you that remember Kool back in the day, this is welcome change back in right direction. This is not the Kool and the Gang of 80's and I for one am happy about that.I would says that this reminds of Kool of the mid 70's era. I would have to give them extra credit for taking some chances and trying to recapture their soul with a capital "S". I'm not sure if they completely succeed, but it is a welcome change for all of us that were tired of the JT era. We can at least say that Kool is funky again."
