"In their best release to date, Knee Deep Shag has set out to take over the world. This is their first CD to be distributed nationally, and their 3rd release overall. Showing off the fact that the band's musical style has great variation, this CD will never get old.The first single off the album, "3PM", is amazing. It's slow and funky with catchy drums and guitar. "By A Thread" is a slow, sappy song. And "Contentment Couch" is a geat song about how it is bliss to be with the one you love, even if you are just sitting around doing nothing.Starting out as a local phenomenon, I have no doubt the KDS will one day be nationally known and respected. These guys deserve it!"

"This quintet from Kalamazoo Michigan is back and better than ever with their third album "Good Disguise." Knee Deep Shag may be from Michigan but their roots grow deep in soul music of the south. Combined with funk, blues, and 70's rock, this band will stimulate your senses! Knee Deep Shag is... Vocalist Matt Gross, Drummer Jeff Moehle, Keyboardist Rob Cookman, Guitarist Phil Barry, and Bassist Mike Fuerst (formerly of Daddy Longlegs). The first single "3 P.M." combines power and grace all into one. Many songs cover the subject of love, relationships, and lost love such as, "Contentment Couch," "By A Thread," and "Early Evening Moon." Former bassist Troy Stansberry also appears on two songs. Produced by Jon Frazer (The Verve Pipe) and Knee Deep Shag. Recorded at Staion C Studios, Grand Rapids, MI. This album will inspire you, excite you, and make you come back for more!"
A terrific album, yet still a far cry from the live show

"Knee Deep Shag's third album does everything to capture their song writing ability and musical talent, but yet again does nothing to capture the *energy* that they display on stage. Seeing Knee Deep in concert is a life-changing experience; the energy they give out, you put back into them and it just keeps coming out at you. Good Disguise, although a terrific album, yet again falls short of what Knee Deep Shag needs to break through - an album that has one-tenth the energy of their live shows."
KDS expands into new horizons

"KDS has once again poured it's heart and soul out there for the public to review. This album, more so than any of the previous, will really give you a feel for what the guys are really like. I respect any band that can put so much emotion down on an album. They convey so many feelings to the listener. This album, Good Disguise, is full of beautiful harmonies, poetic lyrics, and not to mention some funky beats. The music takes you away in a trance on some tunes, like they keyboard solo in Early Evening Moon, and then the next minute your up and jumping around, like in 3pm. Good Disguise, the song, itself shows how versatile this band is. Every member brings his own style and taste to the music. I have never seen guys so tight with each other in their playing. The album is a must have for any rock, funk, or soul fan. And even better, see the boys live. The convey just as much energy as they do on disk."
