"Klaus Doldinger came to New York in 1994 and recorded this straight-ahead jazz set with top-flight American jazz players. Though he recorded fusion through most of his career, the rich tone and nuance of his saxophone style is more flatteringly displayed in an acoustic jazz setting. This is possibly his best recorded work. He also deserves credit for getting Roy Ayers to play some real jazz again. The set list is very well balanced with five originals interspersed among a representative selection of traditional and modern jazz standards. Very nice, Klaus!
