Klaus Doldinger rides again

"Excellent album from Germany's perennial jazz / fusion kings. I certainly wish these guys would release more live stuff ! All tracks are performed beautifully, with top notch sound production and Doldinger's exquisite saxophone melodies. Standout tracks are "Blue Kind of Mind" and "Happy Landing." Definitely a shining album by these excellent musicians. Hopefully the band will release some archive live recordings of their late 70's / early 80's period (Man in the Mirror, Blue Tattoo, Earthborn) at some point. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ALBUM !!"

"Passport's "Live" primarily consists of tunes from "Passport To Paradise" 1996, and "Move" of 1998. This disk opens with a improvisational remake of the song (Sahara) which appeared on the 1987 release of "Talk Back". There are a few other tunes here exclusive to this CD. This disc ends with a song called "Fifty Years Later" and is remeniscent of some of the music Klaus Doldinger had done back in the late 50's to the mid 60's. A great collection of tunes have been recently released from this time in Klaus's carrer called "Doldinger's Best". Great sound quality. Klaus has just recently received an award for lifetime acheivement from the German Music Industry. 67 years old, and he's still kickin' em' out. One of my all time favorites! There is another band out there from the New Jersey area called (Common Ground). They have released a recording on the LO LO Records record label called "Not Enough Space" 1997, and is a great sounding recording like the newer Passport releases. So, if you like Passport "Live" you'll like these guys as well."
Doldinger Can Do No Wrong -- An Outstanding Live Set!

"I LOVE THIS ALBUM! It's expensive for us U.S. Doldinger fans, and that's not an inconsiderable thing, but this CD is so excellent that it's worth the cost. I have been listening to it a lot, and coming back to it constantly. It's as if Klaus is bringing together everything he has learned and done from the Feetwarmers through Passport to his movie and TV soundtracks. The live sound is out of this world, and there are the usual top-notch performances from his musicians. (Has Klaus ever played badly on a record? He's in top form here!) Buy it and play it LOUD...you won't be sorry!"
