"I'm privileged to live in the DC area where Kiva is based, so I get to hear this band in person fairly regularly. This is my favorite album of theirs and I've been listening to it daily since I bought it! This album features a variety of upbeat, dance tunes as well as the mesmerizing slower tunes. My favorite songs include the cheerful "Out of the Corner of the Eye" to the melodic "Rise Up the Call" and the haunting "Once More". A variety of musicians take center stage, but always the musicianship is impeccable. As always, Ariana's voice is smooth and silky."
Fabulous fey fun!

"I featured this album on my pagan radio show recently. The whole recording is magical. The title track is haunting and evocative, a song about fairies, told from their perspective. The fairy theme reappears several times througout the album, which has Kiva's distinctive rocking-Renaissance sound.
'Morning Sun' is an upbeat piece that I like to put on the radio--a real feel-good song. The range of styles on the album keeps it interesting, from the jazzy 'In Praise of Winter' to the dreamy 'Rise Up the Call'. There are a couple of nice covers, including a great version of 'Battle of Evermore'. This recording is a pleasure to listen to. Highly recommended!"
A very pleasant surprise

"I'm always looking for new music, and honestly it's not too often that I decide to try something new and it turns out to be great. This CD purchase was one of those rare times when the music really exceeded my expectations. It's very creative and the music is rich and complex, but still accessible. I am a fan of world beat, which is how I would classify this disk. It also has an old world folk sound. The lyrics are insightful without being overbearing. I came across Kiva looking for music along the lines of Justin Adams, who I also really like. It's also reminiscent of Dead Can Dance. Highly recommended!!"
