CD Reviews

Big let down

"I really don't feel good to say this, because I am a fan of KC since 1969, I grew up with the music, but this cd disappointed me so much, I would call it a cheap audio documentary, a few talk here and there and yes some music, but nothing special and sometime just part of what seem to be a track, I got so many stuff from king crimson, but this is the only one that I feel strongly that it is poor taste, you would think that for a 40 th anniversary, KC would have come with something from good to excellent, I mean, even the packaging is sad, a cheap dvd box, this band mean so much for me, that I would have like to see a real special package and music, never mine the talking, it is rare that a band last 40 years, even with different members, KC is very special and they are a big deal, I don't know what Robert Fripp was thinking to issue this poor product, I hope I didn't offended anyone, but that is the way I feel."

"First I start off with the information that this CD does not contain any music from the five man King Crimson. This did disappoint me a little, though they are mentioned in the 18-page booklet which accompanies the box. For fans there are pictures of the band since 1969, and a handy chronological chart of the various line-ups. On the CD there are six song tracks with audio cuts beween them from various KC members through time. The music is selected from these various bands over 40 years (but not the latest). The hardest to find track would be where 20 current and former KC members do a version of "21st Century Schiziod Man." I'd like to see that in a club. The rest of the cuts are great and largely unheard before (except the "Thela Hun Ginjeet" from the Philidelphia concert). The CD is 40 min. long and in a DVD box. There is the promise that an on-line track will be available of the 2008 band. Me? I want it on disk."
