"I found a record by Kimiko Itoh on fleamarket one day. It was "For lovers only". O my God, it took my breath away!! I immideately bought "Follow me", very good LP from first to last track too! Unfortunatelly, she doesn't record vinyl anymore :). So after I collected all her LPs, I had to buy CDs. The way she sings, the way she feels the flow of music, I say, she is music. She is jazz and there is nothing else to add!
She does standards like nobody before. I love "Shadow in your smile" by Astrud Gilberto, but this is completely new song by Kimiko here!!
Thanks to her, I discovered a line of incredable Japanese jazz female singers, Kimiko Kasai, Mari Nakamoto, Eri Ohno, Yasuko Agawa.
Jazz is my life, I can go on and go on, better stop me here and go get her CDs! This one, "Follow me", "For lovers only", "Sophisticated Lady" and if you can get any of her japanese labels records, like "Birdland" or "Songs for you", you will be very happy."
