A great, great blues album

"I've been in blues bands since 1985, so trust me when I say this is an awesome -- and unusually cheap -- CD. Kim Wilson's blues harp through his Green Bullet microphone sounds better than ever (literally his best playing since his pre-fame Fabulous Thunderbirds days). The song choices (Johnny "Guitar" Watson's "She Moves Me," for instance) are pleasingly atypical and sprinkled with subtle time-signature twists. But the true high point is the tasteful and unique guitar playing of Duke Robillard, who is simply outstanding. Blues guitarists can learn tons from Robillard's solos -- even on this fairly obscure CD. Also nice is the presence of former Fab Thunderbirds Preston Hubbard and Fran Christina on a few songs. Junior Watson's guitar playing is decent, too. Highly recommended."
