Rockabilly revivalists Kim Lenz and Her Jaguars' second blast into the past hits its mark, even if it doesn't make a distinct impression. The redheaded Texan has made some changes since she and the Jags released their 1998... more » debut. Newcomer Nick Curran (fresh from rockabilly vet Ronnie Dawson's band) brings compulsory speed and dexterity to the guitar slot, but also proves to be a flattering accompanist. Working out of Daniel Lanois's Kingsway Studio in New Orleans, producer Big Sandy captures that classic hep-cat sound; there's just enough echo here to give you the sense the band is performing at a high-school hop rather than in a recording studio. Guest Carl Sonny Leland shines on the keys when called upon. And, of course, Lenz makes like Wanda Jackson at the mic. She isn't going to make anyone forget the likes of Jackson, Carl Perkins, and Sonny Burgess--but then, her mission is to recall them. --Steven Stolder« less

"If you love 50's music and especially old rockabilly sound, you have to really love this cd.. I really love the song, Truest Love and Somebody Lied and many others.. found myself humming these songs all day at work. I give it a five star rating for the great 50's rockabilly sound even thou most of the songs are new."
So much growth here... WOW!!!

"Her 1st cd was 100% purrfect, her latest one is 110% purrfect!!!! WOW not only does she look like a 1950's pinup girl, she sings in an authentic 1950's style, full of energy, and her voice full of charisma. She has a gift, a true stage presance. Her band is tight as usual and the songs are great, you couldn't ask for a more perfect rockabilly cd, by a modern female singer, who is a throwback to the 1950's pinups, and singers... the only thing that could have made this cd more perfect is if Kim were laying on the hood of a 54 Chevy, on the cover of the cd."
A five star Gold album all the way...

"Dang freakin' straight this cd is FREAKIN' AWESOME. Too bad that sicko Chris keeps bashin' her, Is he deeply disturbed or what? In any case this cd rocks, it rolls, it swings, it jumps, and Lenz has a voice that screams out "AUTHENTIC 50's ROCKABILLY PHILLY" woo hoo, FREAKIN A..."

"diva. She really is somethin' special. I thought I was hillucinating when I saw the cover of the album. she's georgous in her bathing suit, so 50's pinup looking, and she sings like a Janis Martin style singer, and her band plays in the matter of bill Haley's comets. Really cool"
