"Many people want to come and complain about how the CD is no longer heavy; I find it funny people found KSE to be a heavy band to begin with if you pussys want heavy go listen to job for a cowboy,Heaven Shall burn, Lamb of God,Stick to your guns,God Forbid,or As Blood Runs Black which are all great heavy bands with amazing guitar and drums but heres the thing KSE is built around Howard Jones and the CD shows this its less about a guitar solo melting your face off and more about listening to some deep lyrics this is what separates KSE from the pack and makes them one of the more unique metal bands, because it can attract people from all genres and isn't that what truly defines a great band? KSE brings people from all over the music world under one band that everyone can enjoy.Peace out and metal well never die"

Pointless

"Perhaps I'm being unfair because I only gave this album one chance, but by this point the guys in Killswitch Engage should be able to come further than this. The songs are so hard to differentiate that I was forced to give up, nothing about it stuck out (even in a bad way), which is probably the worst of all compliments; if you're going to do something, at least give me a truly bad album and I'll give it a fair review, not just a massive bland gob of sameness. If I'd have to pick between The End of Heartache and As Daylight Dies, I'd go with the latter - it's the same old Killswitch doing the same old thing, but a song like "Arms Of Sorrow" (probably Howard's finest moment) is hard to pass up on."

Killswitch reinvented

"Buy this CD if you're ready to hear Killswitch Engage reinvent themselves with a different sound. Sure enough, 3 of the first 4 songs continue KsE's tried and true blend of pile-driving riffs and guttural screams. The most powerful of these early songs is #4: "Reckoning" reminds us that "No man can be a deity" as KsE fight back with a scathing critique of a priest who betrayed those who trusted him. But the rest of the songs feature more melodies than metal. Song #5, "The Return," is actually a new beginning for KsE. The riffs slow down into crunchy rhythms; the vocals soar above the music with a wide range of emotions; and haunting lyrical interludes show more remorse than anger. This interesting new approach reaches a crescendo in song #9, "Save Me" -- which sounds like the last confession of a guilty man: "I've made so many mistakes, and I've broken so many promises. I've searched inside, and I'm empty. Will you save me?" This desperate search continues through song #10, "Lost." The last song, #11, may have foreshadowed the end of KsE as we know them: "This Is Goodbye." Shortly after this CD's release, lead singer Howard Jones left the band in the middle of their tour. So if you want to hear KsE with their incomparable front man, this CD may be your last chance. Killswitch Engage"
