CD ReviewsGet real! (Or get lost, either one.) Sero | 12/04/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "Let me ask all you one-star reviewers out there something: IF YOU LIKE PUNK-ROCK, GREEN DAY, JUMP-AROUND-WITH-AN-ELECTRIC-GUITAR TYPE MUSIC, WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING CHECKING THIS OUT IN THE FIRST PLACE?!?!?!?!?! Okay. That said, I'll start the actual review now. Starting off: Bring Me To Life. Talk about a good song! There are those of you saying that this isn't an appropriate song, 'cause it's about death. ?!? If you wanna shelter your kid completely, you do that. But chances are (especially if they have an older sibling) your kids have heard songs about death already. You can't try to censor stuff or kids'll just get more curious about it. Next: When I'm Gone. Oh my God, I love this one! It's my favorite on the CD. When I listened to it the first time I almost cried. Yeah, I know it's about violence, war, ect. BUT THAT'S ONE OF THE REASONS I LOVE IT!!!! It's edgy, it's angsty, it's sad, and the guitar in the bridge is the best. Actually, I think this was the most well-done one on the CD. The real version is even better! (Warning, parents: The real version has the word "damn" in it, so be careful about letting your kids listen to it if you are the "sheltering" type.) Next: Intuition. Jewel's best! The woman singing this one sounds a little like she has a head cold, but the kids are good! If you think that this song's "inappropriate," don't worry, your kids probably don't know who the heck Charlie Sheen is anyway. Next: Anthem. My Dad and I are both Good Charlotte fans, so he won't listen to this one, but I like it! The kids really seem to have fun singing this one, and it has a good, danceable rythym to it. It's NOT about jail, it's about high school, so don't try to use the "inappropriate" excuse. You can't really understand some of the words anyway, so it's not like you're gonna hear kids asking what a "penitentiary" is! (Unless you have a slow-motion setting on your boom box, and in that case, good luck.) Next: I'd Do Anything. One of my friends is a huge Simple Plan fan, so he'd kill me for writing this, but I think it's actually BETTER than the original! It's another good dance party song, and again, the kids seem to have fun! I saw the Simple Plan video on MTV and thought the song was good, but poorly done, and the video sucked. So when I saw that Kidz Bop (did I mention that I love Kidz Bop, and that I have several of their CDs?) had redone it, I thought, "If they can make this one sound good, then they're even better than I thought!" And they did! Finally: Underneath It All: A hilariously bad Gwen wannabe, with 8-year-old backup singers that are better than she is-need I say any more? These are just my favorites on the CD. The other songs are good, I just like these best. If you are shaking your head in disbelief by now, let me say this: This CD was not intended for the following: -critics -adults -rock 'n' roll fans -intense music lovers And when you get right down to it, it's not horrible. So the kids don't have Joss Stone's killer voice, or the musisians aren't rock-band material? Tough. If you don't like it, that's your right, but please stop cluttering up the review board with these one-star criticisms. It's all been said before; we don't need to hear it again." Listen to me ----Phoebe D. Fregoso | 08/13/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "These c.d.'s are for kids. You are not liking these c.d.'s because you are not kids. Children all over the world buy these c.d.'s.*****************PEACE EVERYWERE**************" Why Kidz Bop is popular Sero | 03/18/2006 (1 out of 5 stars) "Parents always want to make sure that music is alright for their children to listen to so the Kidz Bop series was made to give kids a chance to listen to songs that are okay for them. But the real reason Kidz Bop was made was because parents want kids to outgrow the babyish music and start to listen to music that is suitable for their age group. But have you noticed that the music that is supposed to be for older kids are filled with lyrics dealing with drugs boyfriends/girlfriends and relationship troubles and death AND are filled with bad words and foul language and would you call these songs filled with inacceptible lyrics music for kids? No siree. But if the banker offered me a deal to let my children listen to the original artist the answer is No Deal and I would buy them Kidz Bop instead because the lyrics are clean and kid-friendly. Another thing I noticed about Kidz Bop since it debuted in 1999 is that every cd in the Kidz Bop series has the tagline "Sung By Kids For Kids" The real truth the kids do not sing the songs only in parts and mostly adults sing the main lyrics. What's the dealio with this? The series should have been called Adultz Bop With Kidz. Why Kidz Bop was made was for Razor And Tie to make money and to make younger children like pop music. So in the words of Howie Mandel No Deal to inaccepible music and Deal to Kidz Bop"
