"This is U-Ziq's new album, albeit under a new alias. Kid Spatula, a perfect name for an artist who makes music that feels like a spatula scraping excess, funky beats on the lid of your head. U-Ziq's Royal Astronomy was very nice, with elements and hints of very cinematic melodies and harmonies. That quality is emphasized on Full Sunken Breaks. Together with elements of big beat electronica ala Chemical Bros and hip hop like Mos Def and RZA, Full Sunken Breaks is a perfect expressive work of art that stands alone and is a testament to the convergence of musical, melodical, and cultural influences."
