If he's a Gimmick, well, it's Worked!

"I am a 37 Year Old woman, and a Mother to 4 Kids, I heard the song Mother ... quite like me, and I have to Say, I'm impressed ( ok, ok, maybe impressed wasn't quite the Word.) at any RATE, I like the music it's catchy and has great melodies, and as far as I'm concerned if it has a good beat, good melodies and harmonies, I'm there.
Look, every artist out there has some type of gimmick, some of their images aren't the greatest but you have to give credit where credit's due.
I think this man will be around for a long Time, and I for one am glad.
By the way, I don't live in a doublewide, I have a Doctorate, and all my teeth."
Kid Rock's best when he slows down

"Although I love Kid Rock's harder sound, this album explores his quieter side and does it beautifully. While Cowboy is probably my favorite Kid Rock song, Only God Knows Why is a close second. On Cocky, Kid Rock revisits this slowed tempo flavor several times which he only really did once on History with the song Abortion. What I Learned Out On The Road, Lonely Road Of Faith, Picture, Midnight Train To Memphis, and Baby Come Home dabble in this flavor a bit and do it with class. Although the tempo changes drastically at times, it always seems appropriate. I've enjoyed every Kid Rock album and this one tops the list with Devil Without A Cause."

"Kid Rock's new album "Cocky" has blown me away! The explicit version of the album is fantastic and the "Clean Version" is just as good! Kid Rock doesn't just beep out the swearing, but he also changes the lyrics, (just like in Cocky - track 4)he also adds sounds and also reverses the swear words. It is just so cool. Whether or not you like explicit language, you'll love this CD. Buy it now!!!!!!"

"I'm 36 and really don't care for hip-hop, but I do like this cd and the differents styles of music on it. I think it's awesome that Kid Rock sings whatever music he likes and doesn't just go one way. My favorite songs are the rock and country songs, but I can take a little hip-hop mixed in. When I listen to Cocky, I skip tracks 1-4 and start on #5. To me, that's where the good music starts. Even though this is the clean version, there are still several songs that I won't let my kids listen to."
Unbelievable!!!!!
