Oooh, I feel so evil... but this CD gets 3.5 stars!

"An upfront confession: I have not, per se, actually listened to this cd. The KGB sampler CD (with the songs Space Cadet and Captain Max), however, does occupy a permanent spot in my CD changer. These are songs even bouncier than Eve 6, with lyrics even sillier than blink-182. So if this CD is so great, why haven't I bought it? Or at least actually listened to it? Mostly because up until 5 minutes ago, I could not find it. Anywhere. And why did I give it only 3.5 stars? Well, this is the part that gets tricky, not having actually listened to the CD. The two songs on the sampler were both very good songs. The thing is, though, that they were both strikingly similar good songs, and even the best of themes can stand variation. If, on this CD, the KGB can maintain their fun, punk-tinged sound while writing noticably distinct songs, then it's worthy of at least 4 stars. But if it ends up blurring into one long, CD-length song, then it's the type that will get a few spins in the old iMac until the novelty wears off, and only deserves 2.5 stars. Either way, I can tell you for certain that this is a new band with a creative sound and some definite potential. But I guess i better buy the CD and find out."
Great

"I have heard Space Cadet, Fortune & Fame, and Captian Max, and I love them! I can't wait to get the EP. This is a really great new band with rocking music. Not only is it rock, but its a blend of pop, ske, punk, and rock. These are some talented guys here! KGB is also great live. Good Luck guys!"

"The K.G.B.'s music is a fun, energetic sounding pop/rock music. It is fun to listen to, with the good music and great lyrics. I would highly suggest that anyone who likes good music buy this CD."

"I don't know where but awhile ago I heard a promo cd from The K.G.B. and I liked it, so naturally while browsing at my local indie record store and I spotted this I snatched it quickly. As an EP, it has a fair amount of material on it, the could be hit Space Cadet and the odd pot anthem Free Maryjane are the two major standout tracks. Space Cadet seems a lot more punky than their LP was, the amount of ska isn't as high. The lyrics are witty and fun, perfect for the style of music the band plays. The vocals are high, but not annoying at all. This a great buy for anyone who enjoys the lighter side of music and fans of bands like Voodoo Glow Skulls, Choking Victim, or The Aquabats"
I love the KGB!

"I guess i must be little biased since 3 of them went to my high school (hey guys, i luv you?! ben you owe me ice cream)! this EP is fairly good, with an array of their music, and some really catchy songs that one can never get outta one's head (especially "free maryjane" which is surprisingly well written, witty and easy on the ears & "fortune and fame" which was stuck in my teacher's head after they came to my school). usually that's bad but these songs sound so good that you'll be happy that they're there. they're full-length CD is coming out on June 26th, and it's bound to be great. this is a bunch of really cool guys who really rock, and are actually deserving to be on radio waves. ... i luv you, guys!"
