"Do yourself a favour, get this album, listen through it a few times and you won't be able to get its haunting melodies out of your head. This is a far more subtle record than a hasty listening could lead you to believe. It's full of fantastic harmonies, breaks, shifts, it's powerful and delicate at the same time, the sound is gorgeous. Martin's voice has an amazing range and, although sounding kind of familiar, doesn't really sound like anybody else's. I also saw them live and this was something to behold. Can't wait for their second record. Haven't loved a record that much in a long time..."

"With the Hiwatts! Make no mistake, if you've longed to recapture what it felt like to buy something you played and got lost in from start to finish, this is the CD for you. Kevin Martin's voice remains distinctive and emotive, brimming with passion, as it did when he was the lead singer in Candlebox, and then some! He howls, he seduces, he mourns, he tells a story-he rocks. The music's tight, provocative, and intricate. From the playing to the production or the lyrics, nothing disappoints. From full-on rock cuts that blow your speakers out ("Telepathic Rock n Roll" or "Identify") to the cynical nod to today's music-by-way-of-marketing strategy ("Amedia") to a blues groove ("She") or the soul-searching stories in "I" and "If We Could," this is what it's always been about. Feel it, believe it. This one isn't leaving my player for awhile. Welcome back Mr. Martin...been a long time, been a long lonely time!"
This is perfect...

"In an industry that continues to churn out more "cookie-cutter" music every day, Kevin Martin is a complete breath of fresh air. This album is as close to perfect as an album can get. No filler, no wasted space, no track that you have to skip every time... this is literally one of those albums that will play from beginning to end and never get old. "The Possibily of Being" is one of the most technically flawless albums you'll ever hear, but that's not even the best part. What is so amazing is that unlike everything else out today - all the songs don't sound alike. Kevin Martin has crafted 11 distinctly different songs, each one as captivating as the last. From blues to grinding rock, this is the absolute perfect record. Well done!"
Flawless.

"This album is downright spectacular. Singer Kevin Martin has emerged from the ashes of Candlebox with a body of work that proves to the world, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he is not just a singer, but a MUSICIAN. A true ARTIST.The honesty and emotion that Martin pours into his songs is astounding. In a sense, the album is exhausting at the same time that it's exhilirating. Martin takes the listener on an 11-song emotional rollercoaster in which he bares it all, from the pain of broken relationships to anti-war sentiment. One of the keys to Martin's intensity lies in the subject matter. He's dealing with everyday life-issues, saying things that everyone thinks or has thought one time or another, but never had the guts to say. More importantly, he does so without ever being cheesy or trite. For that reason, this album is more ART than just music. Perhaps more important than its technical proficiency is its flawless craftsmanship. Do yourself a favor: grab a good set of headphones and get lost in this album."
Finally...Straight up ROCK 'N' ROLL!!

"Rock and roll fans rejoice! Kevin Martin and the Hiwatts are here at last! "The Possibility of Being" is a straight up rock cd. This is as close to a perfect cd as I've ever heard. And I'm sure if you asked the band they'd saythey're only gonna get better! Candlebox fans are, without question, going to dig this album. Fans who weren't into Candlebox or hadn't been exposed to them are going to dig this, as well. This ISN'T Candlebox, though. These are the HIWATTS! The cd is FULL of melody and tight guitarthroughout! The band just has a groove! And for anyone who digs a singer that can actually SING, Kevin Martin's voice shines on this disc! But don't take my word for it. You can tell how excited about this cd I am. Listen for yourself and be your own judge! This cd ROCKS! Favorite tracks of mine are "Amedia", "If We Could", "I", "Restless", and "Enemy". Check it out and enjoy! -JB"
